The Academy of Country Music has announced that the annual ACM Awards will return to Las Vegas for their 2022 awards ceremony. Tickets on sale.
After two years in Nashville due to the COVID pandemic, the 57th ACM Awards will be held in Las Vegas on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Allegiant Stadium. NOTE: This event was originally scheduled on 4/24/22 at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The Academy was founded in 1964 in Los Angeles when performer Tommy Wiggins, songwriter Eddie Miller and club owners Mickey and Chris Christensen collaborated with Country Music performers, radio and record label executives. Their original intention was to promote Country Music artists based on the West Coast such as Merle Haggard, Billy Mize, Johnny Bond, Glen Campbell, Roger Miller, Buck Owens, Wynn Stewart, Jimmy Wakely and Tex Williams.
The Academy hosted its first Country Music awards show in 1966. The ACM Awards was the first Country Music awards program held by a major organization to spotlight Country Music worldwide.
