The Lucky Club Hotel and Casino in North Las Vegas is partially shutting down to rebrand as a Latino-based casino its owners claim will be the first of its kind in the United States.
Upon reopening, the new name will be Ojos Locos Sports Cantina y Casino.
“To have a casino, restaurant sports bar, nightclub, tequila garden, all in one location, there is nothing like it,” said CEO of Fifth Street Gaming and property owner Seth Schorr.
Fifth Street Gaming operates a portfolio of casinos, gaming taverns, restaurants, and bar concepts that include the Downtown Grand in Las Vegas and the Silver Nugget Casino in North Las Vegas.
When the rebrand is complete, the Ojos Locos Sports Cantina y Casino at Hotel Jefe in North Las Vegas will offer 10,000 square feet of gaming space, 10,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor entertainment space, and the largest Ojos Locos restaurant in the US, seating up to 300 guests.
Along with the restaurant, there will be a 40-person bar in the middle of the casino, a tequila garden and a nightclub.
“We like to go right where the Latin community is and this is a perfect spot for us with largely Latin consumers,” said Founder of Ojos Locos, Rich Hicks.
Construction is expected to be completed by January 2023. Until then, the Lucky Club Hotel will remain open, but the casino and restaurant will be closed.
